Gianluca was my first student of the day. As the secretary was escorting him into my cubicle, he coughed into his hand and then held it out for me to shake. Though it was against my better judgment, I shook it, asking how he was.

Dear Bradshaw,

While wandering the streets of Rome, Francesca mentioned that her parents wanted to buy me a Christmas present. Despite being Jewish and therefore not religiously tailored to receive gifts on Christmas, I agreed to keep my eyes open. Walking down Via dei Serpenti, I saw a pair of pants in a display window and suggested we enter the shop.  continue reading »

Money is where it’s at, Shaw. No doubt about that. It’s here, there and (almost) everywhere. Money is so cherished/beloved/desirable that people will steal/kill/die for it. Forget about God, Shaw. Money has taken His place, which means we’re painting ourselves into a corner and are suffering the consequences. Meanwhile, most wars are waged (not for liberty, justice or human rights but) for power and control. continue reading »
